Resources for Learning and Living the Faith

OCIA is more than what happens during our Tuesday gatherings. These resources are here to help you continue opening Scripture, learning the teachings of the Church, developing a life of prayer, and becoming familiar with the Catholic way of life throughout the week.

You don’t need to use everything at once. Begin with what is most helpful to you, and allow your understanding and practices to grow gradually.

Begin Here...

Read Scripture

Spend time with the upcoming Sunday Gospel and listen for what God may be revealing to you.

Learn the Catholic Faith

Use the Catechism to understand what the Church believes, celebrates, lives, and prays. We use Journey Through the Catechism to guide us in applying doctrine to our lives during our OCIA gathering. Essential reading!

Pray Each Day

Begin with a few quiet minutes, the Sign of the Cross, and a simple conversation with God.

Go to Mass

Come worship with the parish each Sunday, listen to God’s Word, the beautiful prayers, and begin learning the prayers, gestures, and rhythm of the Mass. (See a helpful video below to help you learn the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass). Even before you can receive Holy Communion, you can participate through prayer, attentive listening, and joining the community in worship.

Watch and Learn

These videos can help make unfamiliar Catholic teachings, practices, and traditions easier to understand. They are meant to support our OCIA gatherings and help you continue learning throughout the week.
