ENCOUNTER
NIGHTS

Encounter Nights are contemplative evenings in the church where what we are learning becomes something we can see, pray, and experience.

We may reflect on Scripture, Journey Through the Catechism, the liturgical season, and the signs around us.

Catholics believe that the physical world matters because God created it and entered it through the Incarnation. Water, oil, bread, wine, light, music, silence, sacred places, and human touch can point us toward God. The font, altar, crucifix, tabernacle, statues, and candles help us notice his presence.

The church is a place set apart for worship, where Christ gathers his people. Encounter Nights help us learn this sacramental way of seeing.

An evening may include a brief introduction, guided prayer, movement through the church, Scripture, silence, personal reflection, and a quiet closing.

The second Tuesday of each month is held in the church, ordinarily as an Encounter Night. Check the Calendar page for the confirmed date and theme.
