Weekly Gathering Guides
Our Gathering Guides help you prepare for OCIA and take part in our evenings together. Each guide includes the readings, prayer, and reflection for that gathering.
Journey Through the Catechism remains our main text. At certain times, we use other Catholic material to explore a topic more deeply or enter into the Church’s seasons. The current guide will always tell you what to read and bring.
Before we gather:
• Open the guide for the upcoming gathering below and read its preparation instructions.
• Read the assigned material, whether it comes from Journey or is included in the guide. Take your time with the reflection prompts. You may jot down a thought or question to bring to your table discussion on Tuesday, or simply ponder as you read.
• Look at the upcoming Sunday Gospel, the discussion question, spend a little time listening to what God may be saying to you through it.
• Bring your guide and any questions it raises. Bring Journey when it is the assigned reading.
Our regular Tuesday gatherings include prayer with Scripture, conversation about the Church’s teaching, and a Catholic practice to carry into daily life.
Encounter Nights offer a quieter evening of guided prayer and reflection in the church.
Servant Saturdays help us put our faith into practice through service and may take place of a Tuesday night gathering. Check the Calendar page for upcoming dates and details.
The guide for the following gathering is normally posted on Wednesday. Printed copies are also available at our gatherings.
You don’t need previous Catholic knowledge or completed reading to join us. Begin with the upcoming gathering’s guide. You’re welcome wherever you are in your journey.
