October 13, 2026—Encounter Night: Alive in Christ

This Tuesday we begin our Hope in Christ: Life Everlasting series with a contemplative Encounter Night in the church. We are entering a beautiful time in the life of the Church that shapes how we as Catholics see Reality.
As autumn Ordinary Time carries the Church toward All Saints and All Souls Day, then culminates in the feast day that ends the liturgical year and recognizes Jesus as the Lord of all, things seen and unseen at the feast day of Jesus Christ King of the Universe, we’ll begin with the hope at the heart of the Christian faith: Jesus Christ has conquered death, and in Baptism He gives us a share in His life!
Rather than our usual table gathering, we’ll move prayerfully through the church—beginning at the baptismal font, walking among the images of the saints in our nave and learning about them as witnesses who have gone before us, and return to the pews before the altar and tabernacle.
Through Scripture, silence, the witness of the saints, the Church’s prayers for the departed, and time for personal reflection, we’ll begin exploring what it means to live and die in Christ and to belong to the communion of saints.
This evening is meant to make room for hope, grief, questions, and prayer. We’ll end in silence and with the simple act of lighting a candle, entrusting someone or something to Jesus.
Please read the gathering guide before coming to the Encounter Night and bring it with you so you will be prepared for the evening.
